Maggie's Birthday

Maggie, Morgan's cousin had her first birthday on March 12th, man the girls are getting fast big!! Morgan had a good time and was fast asleep before we even got on the main street to home, she is still getting used to "big" crowds and really gets shy fast!!

It was a great day and I remember everything about the day she was born. Morgan and Maggie are very lucky to have each other and I know that they will be best friends!!

Teething Time

So for those who don't know Morgan started teething really early and got 8 teeth-four on top and four on the bottom starting at 6 months, then nothing for months, well this month her molars are coming in, poor girl is getting 3 right now, two on top, one on each side and one on the bottom!! These last two weeks have been hard, as she has been in pain!!

When Morgan teethes she also gets a runny nose!! Since her nose has been running so much and draining to the back of her throat she has an awful phlemy cough!! They are finally starting to break thru so I know that we are almost thru it, I just feel so bad for her!! Here is a picture of her drooling at her best!!

She has also decided to start trying to walk. We were at Maggie's 1st birthday party (Morgan's cousin) and she just decided right then and there to try to take some steps. She is getting braver and braver every day so I am thinking anyday now she will be running everywhere!!!

She has started talking more as well and she says Dada, Mama, Hi, Abbie (one of the dogs) Owie and I am thinking Molly (the cat). I am not sure where she learned Owie, but everytime she would have a big cough she would say it!!!

Just another update for everyone, Morgan is doing good, February has been a tough month as she had strep throat, then 2 weeks later she got the flu (a lot of kids in daycare were out the same week) we had about 3-4 days of vomiting and diarrhea. Now this last week because of the diarrhea she got really constipated and got a hemorrhoid!!! For the past few days we have having to give her suppositories and a laxative in her milk!!! Hopefully this is just temporary and she won't have digestive issues for the rest of her life!!! I know that she is a trooper though because between the flu and the constipation, she has been her normal self!!

We are also day 2 on no bottle!!! Morgan has done great so far transitioning to a sippy cup only and has only had a few little meltdowns, but other than that, I think we are going to be bottle free!!

She continues to play with Abbie as you can see on this picture, she must think Abbie is her personal playground!!

We think she might be saying "abbie" but we are not sure, it sounds like abbie sometimes and other times it sounds like "baby" but if she is saying Abbie I think she has expressed who her favorite in the house is!!

This weekend we decided to go ahead and flip her car seat around. Our pediatrician was saying that it is not required but best to wait till they are 2 because of injury rates and I really tried to see if we could wait till then, but she was miserable in my car turned backwards. She would cry the whole way home from daycare so I decided that we needed to go ahead and flip her. The smile on her face was priceless when we took her in the car for the first time. Every time I would turn around and look at her, she would just giggle!!

As you can see she agrees with this decision!!!

This coming week we have another milestone coming up, on March 12th, Morgan's cousin Maggie will be turning 1!!! It is very exciting for us all and to have our kids so close together is a blessing!! Here is a pic of Morgan and Maggie when Maggie was not even 24 hours old

Just an update

Nothing too much is new, Morgan got over her strep throat pretty fast and is in fully destructive mode now!! She is cutting an upper molar, which has just made a drooley mess as well as a runny nose (she gets them when she gets new teeth) she is slowing "trying" to walk and does pretty well with us just holding one hand, and she will take a few steps off of something to one of us, or between us and she looks just proud as can be when she does it!!

One of her favorite things is to follow us when we go and use the bathroom and stand outside the door wanting in, as you can see in this picture

We have found that she does love food, but in particular she loves CHEESE!! If she even sees one of us with a slice she goes crazy for it, and she inhales it!!! She also loves spaghetti, squash, chicken, sweet potatoes, and fruit, especially bananas!! She doesn't get them much but once in awhile we will give her a few french fries and she loves those as well. I would say Spaghetti is her favorite dinner altogether as you can see from the photo!!

And we let her get this messy because well it is just fun for her and we got a brand new washer a dryer, I have to say I didn't mind doing laundry, but now I LOVE IT!! I have always wanted a front loader washer and dryer and we finally got them, look how pretty they are:

And she still hasn't lost her sense of humor, the other night she crawled around with one of her socks in her mouth and she thought she was the funniest thing in the room, in truth she was, we couldn't stop laughing!!

And Morgan also wants to thank Uncle Bob and Aunt Donna for the birthday toy, it is now her favorite, every morning she goes over and pushes the button and loves to have the air from the toy to blow in her face!!
