My Menu

Here is my menu for the week, like I said in my previous post I already have my menu planned for the next month! It is going to make grocery shopping so much easier!!

Sunday: Pulled Pork, Cheesy Potato Casserole, Green Beans

Monday: PW Homemade Chicken and Noodles (I have a big batch frozen), grilled cheese sammies, and salad

Tuesday: Teriyaki Pork Chops, PW's Sesame Noodles and corn

Wednesday: Homemade Hamburger Helper, salad and rolls

Thursday: Tilapia (new recipe), rice and biscuits

Friday: OUT (Once a month we try to treat ourselves out, of course a happy hour is ideal because you get better deals! Not sure where we are going but I will probably decide that day!)

Saturday: Appetizers: Crab Rangoon, Chicken Wings, and PW's Steak Bites (I am so excited to try them!)

Have a great week! And I will let you know how I did on my grocery challenge!!

Grocery Challenge

Well another week has gone by and we even lost an hour today, but my menu planning must continue. I was reading THIS blog the other day and decided to give my self a challenge for my next grocery trip. I always grocery shop for a month at a time--with the exception of fresh fruits and veggies. I always shop after the 15th of the month due to our budget, again with the exceptions of fresh food and maybe "emergency" items we need. Also, since I do shop for the whole month, we spend around $300 a month, when you are feeding 5 people, that is a lot of food to make and it is just going to get worse as they get bigger!!!

So, after reading the blog I was talking about earlier she feeds a family of 6 and tries to only spend $100 a month. I thought well I am spending pretty much that for our family of 5 so maybe I could cut it down. My challenge that I will be doing is to half my grocery budget on the next trip so try to stay at $160. I normally shop, than make my menu, but now I have made my menu, made my list up and hopefully we will stay in my budget (based on my totals that I think everything will cost, I would be at $163, and that is w/o any coupons. I still have to match those up. If I could save $150 a month, than we would be able to take a family vacation, or maybe buy something fun for the house, etc. I will update you all and let you know how it goes, I am really excited and love being challenged by this challenge!!

My Menu

Here is my menu for this week. My favorite thing I made last week were these Ham and Cheese Sliders...they were delicious. I left out the poppy seeds, just because I didn't have any and I highly recommend you try them...they were YUMMY!

Sunday: Cheeseburgers and Fries (we spent the afternoon at the zoo, and I forgot to take something out for dinner, so that is what we had!)

Monday: Salisbury Steak (new recipe), egg noodles and green beans

Tuesday: Taco Soup and Quesadilla's

Wednesday: Fried Chicken, Cous Cous, and Corn

Thursday: Spaghetti, Salad and Garlic Bread

Friday: Crock Pot BBQ Chicken and baked potatoes

Saturday: ???? Maybe Steak or appetizers, I haven't decided yet.

So, only 2 new recipes this week, and we had one of them tonight and it was good, a real comfort meal! Have a great week!!

19 months ish.....

I meant to do an update on Cameryn and Jaidyn at their 1 1/2 year check up, but I just ran out of time! I can't believe that 19 months have already gone by. I am getting super excited for this summer as we will be able to go camping with out having to worry about them crawling in dirt and all of that!

Cameryn Paige:
She doesn't have much hair, but I keep trying!

Weight: 28 lbs (estimate)
Eye Color: Blue
Hair: Straight and blonde

Favorite Foods: Strawberry's, Peaches, Oranges, Spaghetti, Bread, Cheese, Breakfast Sausage, oh did I mention cheese---she would eat it all day every day if I let her.

Questionable Foods: Chicken (she ate it in a casserole, but if it is plain she won't--unless it is a chicken nugget), and eggs

Favorite Things: toys that require construction (blocks), chasing her sister, bath time, shoes, and drinking out of a straw

Personality: When she is happy, she is happy, when she is not, she is all DRAMA, will have the biggest meltdown (usually when I take something from her that she shouldn't have, or her sister steals her toy).

Jaidyn Elliott:
She has been crinkling her face a lot lately...love it!

Weight: 24 lbs (estimate)
Eye Color: Hazel--they changed from blue to hazel
Hair: Curly, curly, curly and a brownish blonde color

Favorite Foods: Grapes, Peaches, Spaghetti, Yogurt, Cheese, potato chips, goldfish, cheese puffs(she would eat these all day if I let her, they don't get them very often, it is just a treat)

Questionable foods: eggs, she will sometimes eat them, sometimes not. Other than that she will eat what ever we put in front of her!

Favorite things: Chasing her sister around, bath time, trying to get dressed her self, Elmo, standing on things--she is a monkey, if she can climb it she will.

Personality: She is just a sweet cuddly girl. Doesn't melt down too often, loves to giggle and laugh, but HATES her diaper being changed.

We still have to girls getting speech therapy, they have come a long way! They will sign "more" and Cameryn signs "all done". Jaidyn is saying Mama and Dada and daaa (dog) and dd (dirty). Cameryn is not consistent with Mama but she will say it from time to time, she says Dada, Daaa (dog) and dd (dirty). Even though they are not "talkers" they follow direction really well. They are really into hugging and kissing each other as well, I hope this is a trend to continue and that they will be best friends!!
